Missingpersons Twitter Updater

Ok my plan to make a twitter feed from the http://www.missingpeople.org.uk rss feed at http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/areyoumissing/missing/rss/

My plan is to tweet new posts to the feed and suffix them with a tinyurl version of their permalink.

They have two problems with their feed. The first is that they only update it at midnight, so I will have to make my script check for new feeds and tweet them at a reasonable time,ie 2:00pm.

The second problem is that it seems that people need to be missing for about two weeks before they appear on the feed.

This idea was inspired my @chrisbrogan and an amber alert tweet he made.

Syntax Highlighting for Blogs

I have an idea of creating a CSS file containg syntax highlighting rules for various languages, ie different colours for variables, and comments …

Then create a perl script to parse a source code snippet, and apply the relevent <span id> tags to the snippet to source code to be displayed on a blog in a readable fashion.
